This new Huntsville community will provide a home to senior adults with differing care needs. With your financial support, the community may open in late 2012 with 36 assisted living apartments for those independent seniors who only need a small amount of daily help. The Skilled Nursing center will be home to 66 residents that require round the clock health care. The Memory Support apartments will provide those with dementia and Alzheimer's a safe and home-like environment.

First United Methodist Church was challenged to raise $100,000 for the new Chapel at the Ella Smither Geriatric Center. FUMC promised match up to $50,000 donated by the congregation.

Our congregation has exceeded their goal and committed $102,000.  With the addition of our $50,000 match, our gift stands at over $152,000.
