Nursery/Childcare (0 – 3 Years)

Our nursery provides care for newborn children through 2 years of age on Sunday mornings for each hour of worship.  We offer a welcoming, nurturing, and safe place for your children.  We want you and your children to feel welcome and loved while learning of God’s love.

First Time?

Welcome!  We are so excited for you to spend time with us!  Our nursery provides care for infants and children through 3 years of age on Sunday mornings during the 8:30, 9:45, and 11:00 AM worship services.  Nursery/Childcare is available in the Nursery and Toddler Rooms in the children’s wing of the Sanctuary building.

____

Sign-in

Please sign-in your children on the nursery sign-in sheets and fill out a Child/Family Information Form if you have not already done so.  Remember to note either your cell phone number or, if available, your pager’s number on the sign-in sheet.

____

Emergency Notifications

If your children cry when you drop them off, our staff will work with you to find the best way to comfort your children so that you and your children can enjoy your time at church.  The nursery/childcare staff and volunteers are encouraged to call or page parents only when necessary.  Should the need arise, we will call you or your pager will vibrate.  If you are called or paged, please come to your children’s room as quickly as possible.

In the event of an emergency or disaster, your children will be escorted to the parking lot behind the church building, next to the police station.  Children will be released into the care of the parent(s), legal guardian(s), designated pick-up person(s), or emergency contact person(s) listed on their Child/Family Information Form.

Snacks, Supplies, and Allergy Concerns

Please bring all necessary items with you.  Make sure all belongings, including the bag, are labeled.  Families are responsible for supplying bottles, milk, formula, juice cups, finger foods, pacifiers, and any other items they believe their children will need.  If you use cloth diapers, include a sealable plastic bag for soiled diapers.

Please note any concerns about allergies to certain foods/snacks/items/medications on the Child/Family Information Form and/or the sign-in sheets.  As a precaution, our nursery and toddler rooms are a nut and nut product-free zone.  Please refrain from bringing any nuts, nut-based products, or items which may contain trace amounts of nuts, with you or your children.  Once all children have been picked up, our childcare team cleans the room(s) by wiping down the table(s) and chairs with disinfecting wipes, sweeping and mopping the floor, and spraying played with toys with disinfecting spray.

____

Illness

The welfare of the children under our care is our first priority.  If your child becomes ill, you will be notified immediately.  Please refrain from bringing your child if he or she has had any of the following symptoms within the past 24 hours: diarrhea, vomiting, fever, rash or virus.  Children who have seen a physician and/or taken antibiotics for 48 hours will be admitted at the discretion of the nursery/childcare staff.   Please understand that any decision regarding an ill child is made to provide a healthy and comfortable atmosphere for all children, volunteers, and staff members.

____

Our Childcare Team

On Sunday mornings, both paid staff and volunteers care for our youngest children.  Each childcare worker has completed a background check and all are required to understand and follow the Texas Annual Conference’s Safe Sanctuary policy regarding safe practices with children.
